  • Few crowds other than ski school

  • Good storm day choice since lifts seldom close due to wind

  • Medium resort
  • Gate accessed off-piste terrain
  • Lots of groomers.

  • Can be crowded - most westernized in Japan
  • Lots of gate accessed off-piste areas

  • Upper lift closures common on storm days

  • Large resort 
  • Best tree skiing in Japan
  • Many groomers
  • Better on storm days than Niseko (less lift closures)

  • Popular with tourists wanting to see "snow monstors" which can make some lifts busy.

  • One tram (aka Ropeway) with 2 narrow mostly ungroomed official runs. Mainly a springboard for BC.
  • Inexpensive guided BC tours available.
  • Ropeway is susceptible to closures due to winter storms.
  • Very small adjacent ski area is seperate from ropeway.

  • Small resort.
  • Groomed runs and some side country unofficial areas. 
  • On Indy pass.

Ani

  • Small resort.
  • Long gondola serves a singloe upper lift. Groomed runs and some side country unofficial areas.
